Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CastReel (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. CastReel reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

2. Description of Service

CastReel is an AI-powered platform that generates UGC-style video advertisements from text scripts using AI avatars and voices. The Service includes video generation, script creation tools, social media posting, and content management features.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Not share your account with others or create multiple accounts

4. Subscription Plans and Credits

CastReel offers free and paid subscription plans. Each plan includes a monthly allocation of video generation credits. Credits:

  • Are consumed when a video generation is initiated, regardless of outcome
  • Are refunded automatically if generation permanently fails after all retries
  • Reset monthly on paid plans on your billing date
  • Do not roll over to the next billing period
  • May also be purchased as one-time credit packs

5. Billing and Refunds

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Settings page or Stripe's billing portal. Upon cancellation:

  • You retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period
  • Your account reverts to the Free plan after the period ends
  • We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods
  • One-time credit pack purchases are non-refundable once credits have been used

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Create content that impersonates real people without their consent
  • Generate misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent content
  • Produce content that promotes violence, hate speech, or illegal activities
  • Create deepfakes or deceptive media intended to mislead audiences
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • Circumvent usage limits, security measures, or access controls
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice or refund.

7. AI-Generated Content

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • All videos are generated by artificial intelligence and do not represent real people
  • You are responsible for ensuring AI-generated content complies with applicable laws and platform policies when published
  • You should disclose the AI-generated nature of content when required by law (e.g., EU AI Act) or platform terms of service
  • AI generation results may vary and are not guaranteed to be error-free

8. Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain ownership of scripts and other original content you provide. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content for the purpose of generating videos.

Generated Videos: Videos generated through the Service may be used for commercial purposes including advertising, social media posting, and marketing. You are granted a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use generated videos.

Our Platform: CastReel's platform, including its design, code, features, and branding, remains our intellectual property.

9. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CASTREEL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your Settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Generated content may be deleted after account termination.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of the jurisdiction where CastReel is incorporated.
